Will
Collett
For more than fourty years, Will Collett has worked alongside boys and men from every walk of life — a remote Northern Territory cattle station, a decade of farm management, Australian Special Forces, the Australian Federal Police and disaster relief work with veterans and first responders.
He has played rugby since he was five and still plays today, has coached club, school and state representative teams, and is a father of three. Making Men came out of all of it — including the parts that didn't go to plan.
“Success means very little if a man lacks character.”

The Book
A MODERN MAP FOR AN ANCIENT INITIATION
Making Men sets the Australian rite of passage onto five foundations — the practical, tested disciplines every man must build to stand on his own.
Across fitness, finances, family and friends, faith and fun, Will Collett sets out what each foundation demands, why it matters, and how a man earns it. Not theory — a path you can actually walk, starting with the foundation you are weakest in.

Companion Resources
Know where you’re starting.
Making Men isn’t only about understanding the five foundations. It’s about being honest about where you stand today.
These companion resources help you assess your foundations, find the areas that need attention, and turn that into practical action — one day at a time.
- 01Assess
Quick Five Foundations Assessment
A short, honest scoring exercise across Fitness, Finances, Family & Friends, Faith and Fun. Mark each foundation out of ten, then name your strongest, your weakest and the one you have been quietly neglecting. It finishes with a single action for the week ahead.
Word document
- 02Understand
Deep Five Foundations Assessment
The longer version. Detailed questions inside each of the five foundations, plus a look at what is quietly draining your progress. You are not chasing a perfect total — you are looking for the pattern and the area that needs attention right now.
Word document
- 03Plan
Action Plan & Challenge Roadmap
Turn what you found into a plan. Record recent wins, where you stand today and where you are vulnerable, then set your next actions across 90 days, 12 months, three years and five years — including who is supporting you and when you will review it.
Word document
- 04Build
Habit Tracker
A two-week daily grid for what you actually do with your hours, with reflection prompts at the end: what patterns show up, what is worth keeping, what needs improving, and the one change you will make each day.
